Often, I’ll get messages on Twitter that will lead me to finding out about something that is quite good.

When 1416 Street messaged me to tell me all about their vision for talent contests and parties for 14 to 16 year olds, I thought it was a great idea.

If there’s one thing I do remember about being 14 (yes, it was a loooonnngg time ago), it’s getting into mischief because I had literally nothing constructive to do with my time.

1416 street are going to be running singing and dancing competitions, and events for young teens. They are having a massive launch event on 27th December 2014, and you may even get a chance to see some recognisable faces if you are lucky.

I might be getting old, but I like the idea of young teens actually getting off social media and interacting in a safe environment. Especially as all that was available to me at 16 as a social life was drinking over the local park (who remembers Hooch?)
