While most people await Christmas with childlike anticipation, there are that rare breed of women like me who are ten times more excited about the January sales. Although I am not stupid enough to queue from 5am on Boxing Day (obviously no one has mentioned to these idiots that most retailers do the sales online AND they start from Christmas Eve), I still LOVE a bargain. Who doesn’t love a bargain? Who would willingly pay more for something?
This year, after the uproar Black Friday caused, the fact that the economy is slowly but surely recovering and the fact that women everywhere still want to look glam without breaking the bank, it was clear the January sales were going to go BIG.
Here’s a few of my favourite little bargains online.
Jane Sequin Neck and Waist Skater Dress
I LOVE a skater dress. I also love sequins, or, like a magpie, anything shiny. If you are anything like me, you would of chosen your New Years Eve dress months ago, and now eaten so much over the holiday period that you no longer fir or feel comfortable in it, and NEED a new one. This little number has been reduced from £25 to £15, which if you ask me if a massive bargain for a party dress.

Need a bag with that ladies?
No worries, Boohoo have also knocked this Ciara Metallic Envelope clutch down from £16 to £10. That’s dress AND bag for £25.

ASOS Coat in Maxi Length Boiled Wool
Personally, I think ASOS are good for a bargain all year round, but this coat, down from £100 to £60 is a fabulous offer. It’s quite sensible to wait until the January sales to get a new coat, after all we still have a good 2 or 3 months of dire winter weather, and let’s face it if you live in the UK you might need it mid July as well.
Another must for the January and February weather is a good, solid pair of boots, and these ASOS Capital City Knee High Boots are not half price, down from £50 to £25.
At that price, you can wear them day to day and be a little bit less disappointed if the great British weather tarnishes them a bit, although my experience with ASOS shoes is that they go for quality.
Ted Baker Tammi Cross Hatch Bowler Bag, Taupe
You know you are getting old when you go from wanting to browse around the Topshop sale to going straight to John Lewis’s website on Boxing Day. The thing I love about the sales in department stores is that you can genuinely pick up a massive designer bargain in the month of January.
This bowler bag from Ted Baker is down to £70.50 from £159, so although you are probably now about to buy yourself two, if you want to spend your Christmas money on a treat this is a great deal.

It’s not just clothes and bags you can get yourself a bargain on either. January is definitely time to stock up on your beauty products, and there are some massive special prices on Clinique at John Lewis, like the Dramatically Different moisturizing gel for just £38.

Perk up artist
It’s not just clothes and beauty products you can grab a great deal on this January, and thank heavens the lord answered my prayers and Benefit are having a January sale too. This ‘Perk up artist’ set, which is to correct, cover and brighten your complexion, has gone down from £23.50 to £11.75. That’s about the price of that pizza you were going to order tonight because you can’t be bothered to cook, so bung one from the freezer in and treat yourself www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk/product/view/perk-up-artist
And if you didn’t get that Michael Kors watch you were after? Click on the picture below, Amazon have them down from £199 to £138, so treat yourself to a New Years present!
