When I needed a bikini for my holiday in Crete this June, I did the sensible thing any self respecting Essex girl would do. I decided to ask Twitter for suggestions.

I have always struggled to find bikini’s because I have the unfortunate shape of tiny waist, big bum. As much as it is appealing to cover up my bum with ‘shorts’ style bottoms, I have long since learned it actually makes you look bigger if you try and squeeze your legs into shorts bottoms.

They didn’t try and push a hard sell, they just helpfully let me know what would and wouldn;t suit my shape. So after a browse on their website, I was thinking there is so much choice I’ll never find just the one.

I think this is a lovely style, although I wouldn’t recommend it if you are off on hols with the kids and likely to be sitting in brown damp wet sand because you’ll definitely look like you’ve had a wee accident.

for all those champagne spray parties in Marbs though, it’s perfect.

The bikini I actually went for, which was delivered today (yes, a day after ordering, if only all companies could get it this right), was the Luli Fama Peach Multi Cross Bra Bikini.

This bikini is a little shorter on the sides on the bottom than I would usually go for, but to be honest it’s done me a massive favour, giving me the motivation to get my bum on the cross trainer every day for the next 8 weeks.

The material is lovely. You will always find with cheap bikini’s the bum wears out, making it look like you have done something incredibly untoward while in the pool and not very glam or flattering at all. LilyLola bikini’s are top quality, and well wroth the price.

As they state on their website, they only sell the most beautiful swimwear pieces, and this much is definitely true.
