We all know how nice it is to get behind a good cause, but if you get to own an awesome song at the same time, you can’t say no right?
As you can imagine, when I found out Ren Stedman, who works with me at ECL, was releasing a song to raise money for the Hesten Lodge centre, I was excited for two reasons.
- I love Ren’s music, I listen to the English Weather EP all the time.
- The cause is amazing. The money is going towards new sensory equipment for the new sensory room at the centre.
For those of you who haven’t had a reason or opportunity to be exposed to the work these centres do, they are a massive part of many vulnerable adults lives in Essex (and West Sussex). Adults with complex needs can take part in sessions like bowling, cooking, bocce, lunch trips, Zumba fitness sessions, swimming sessions, and of course sensory sessions.
For people with sensory impairments, even the smallest piece of sensory equipment can have a massively positive impact on their day. This is why what Ren is doing is so important.
Also, let’s face it, ‘The Ascent’ really isn’t going to set you back much with your Christmas shopping money, as it is on sale for £1. £1 is more or less how much a packet of Monster Munch will set you back nowadays guys, so let’s all help out a good cause and think of our waistlines for those upcoming Christmas do’s.
