Tips For Having A Wedding On A Budget

As a wedding is seen as the best day of many people lives, it’s surprising to learn how stressful they can be. Planning a wedding is hard work – especially on a budget. There are a number of different ways to save money on your wedding and take back some of the control when you feel like it the budget has run away from you.

Start saving from the hen and stag do’s

Because they happen before the wedding, a lot of people do not incorporate the hen and stag do’s into their budget. This is where things can get expensive. Instead of going all out and having a full weekend away – why not settle for an inexpensive, sophisticated meal? I recently reviews The Ivy Grill in London which would be a perfect venue for a joint hen and stag meal. If you are looking at how to save money on your wedding then you need to start at the very beginning and include all of the pre-wedding antics. If you do something like this you will also have more chance of being able to do it the night before without people having hangovers on your big day.

Sweat the small stuff

Attention to even the smallest of details is the main way you will save on your wedding. Even if you make huge savings on things like the venue and the DJ or band the rest can still all add up to a very pricey number. Look around for cheap wedding favours, find out if there are ways to decorate the tables yourself with inexpensive materials, and ask the venue if they have the correct type of license for you to provide the alcohol you buy yourself which can work out cheaper than putting money behind a bar. Bridesmaids dresses are a big part of the wedding but do you really need to pay for an expensive set of shoes or clutch to go with them? Give your bridesmaids the dresses ahead of time and task them with finding accessories in a charity shop or on eBay. The more you can delegate the more you will have time to focus on the bigger stuff.

Most wedding budget saving ideas will give you tips on how to save money before you make a purchase of come to an agreement with a vendor. Once you have booked someone or something there is always room to negotiate. Social media following and online reviews are viable currency in this day and age so you may be able to use this to your advantage. Ask the DJ if you can get some money off for tagging him or her in all of the photos and promoting them. See if the flower vendor will give you a cheaper price for some social media posts promoting them. A good review is really valuable to businesses that are offering a product or a service for weddings – so use this to your advantage.
