A Different Valentine’s Day

*This post is written in collaboration with Staffordshire Singles.

It looks like Valentine’s might be a bit different this year. Here in the UK, there hasn’t been any word on how long the current lockdown will last. If you are part of a couple, there can actually be a lot of stress around Valentine’s day. There is always an element of pressure to do something amazing. This pandemic has given couples a great excuse to not celebrate Valentine’s, seeing as no-one can go anywhere or do anything. Even if restaurants and hospitality venues are open around the time, it is likely that they are going to be really full, due to having to leave more space between tables.

If you are really keen to do something for Valentine’s, there are things you can do if you are locked down together.

Having a “virtual Valentine’s”

If you are not isolating or in a bubble with your significant other, you can always plan in a virtual date. Virtual dates are a great first date when you meet someone on free dating sites Staffordshire, but they are not just restricted to newer daters. Even if you have been seeing each other for a while, virtual dating can be more convenient for you. Organise a Skype call and try to watch the same film together. Then you can talk to each other about the film while you are watching it and it will be exactly like you are in the cinema. Sort of!

Having a live together Valentine’s

Living with your partner will obviously mean that you can do something indoors on the big day. If you want to create an atmosphere that makes it seem like a date, you can get the fancy tablecloth and candles out to make your dining room look like a nice restaurant. You could also recreate your own cinema date by buying snacks and watching your favourite film.

Having a bubble Valentine’s

If your partner is in your bubble, then the good news is you are able to meet them outside. Granted, the weather doesn’t looks that inviting, but if you wrap up warm a nice winter walk is always lovely. The great thing about this type of date is that there are no distractions and you can talk without interrupting other people in the restaurant or cinema. Another benefit to having a walking date is that it is a form of exercise.

Having a single Valentine’s

Single? There is no reason to despair. First of all, you still have time to meet someone on a local dating site like dating agency Staffordshire. You can bag yourself a Valentine’s date any time up to the big day. Again, the very start of dating is a bit challenging because of everything that is currently going on. But at least you will have more time to get to know each other virtually before you meet in person, and at least you haven’t wasted much time if you feel they are not the one for you.

One response to “A Different Valentine’s Day”

  1. Valentine’s is definitely going to be different this year. Either it has to be virtual or at home, which both isn’t a bad idea if restaurants are still closed. Better to be safe than sorry! Thanks for sharing these tips!
