I spent a lot of time with my Nan when she was alive. It’s one of the things that made losing her that little bit easier. Because my Nan lived opposite my Mum and I, we had a natural closeness. When the weather was good, we would pack up the car and take her out somewhere for the day. We explored loads of places. We found a lovely beach at Broadstairs, a particularly good café in Walton and enjoyed the smugglers caves in Hastings. You’ll probably know this if you have ever taken someone of “Nan” age out for the day, but finding a cup of tea for her really was the most important thing of the day.

This brings me to the subject of my post, the “Find My Tea” app. Every so often an app comes along for me that I just know is going to be a game changer. As well as being able to find a place that does a nice cup of tea wherever you are, you can also find out which café sells your favourite BRAND of tea. That particular part of the app is what would have been a lifesaver were my dear old Nan still here, it was PG Tips or nothing for her.

How does Find My Tea work?

No one has time for confusing, hard-to-use apps. I am going to take you through how to use use Find My Tea to encourage you to download it for free and give it a go, but the user interface is fantastic and it is so easy to use, I probably don’t NEED to take you through this.

When you download and initially open Find My Tea, you will find yourself at the search screen.

Once this has opened you can search using an address, a post code or just by typing in the location. You can also hit “my location” to see all of the places nearby. As an example, I have used an area I know quite well: Shepherd’s Bush. As you can see, when you type in your location and hit “search” you are given all of the local places you can get a cup of tea.

Once you click into a location, you can then go on to see which specific brands of tea the café or shop sells.

What other information can I find out on Find My Tea?

There are a few different things you can find out about your selected tea vendor on the Find My Tea app. If you click into the café or shop you can then go on to find out:

• How far away it is
• The exact address
• Contact details
• Social media links
• Brands of tea
• Food hygiene rating

How do I download Find My Tea and how much is it?
