Most people that know me personally, or follow me on social media, will know that I don’t drink alcohol. I spent the ages between 18 and about 30 being quite a big drinker, and when I started to get hangovers that lasted me two or three days and started to have terrible anxiety for weeks after I had had a drink, I realised my body was telling me enough is enough. Now and again, I’ll have a glass of expensive champagne, and that’s about it. Giving up alcohol can seem like a huge lifestyle change, but truth be told it doesn’t bother me. The main thing is to get outside the mindset that it is a “treat” that will help you “relax” because trust me, if you have an underlying mental health problem, you are playing with fire.
So you have to find out what works for you when it comes to alternatives. Spoiled brat that I am, one of the ways I like to relax is by having a nice spa day to look forward to. Or a holiday. But let’s be honest, in the current cost of living crisis, that isn’t exactly always feasible.
There I was minding my own business the other day when an advert for Trip CBD drinks popped up on my newsfeed. When the whole “CBD oil” craze first started, I did buy a weak one to try for my anxiety and my chronic pain condition, but to be honest, it wasn’t great. However, I am aware the CBD oil market has changed a lot since then, and the advert piqued my interest (hurrah for advertising working as it should), so I decided to give it a try.
What is in Trip CBD drinks?
All Trip CBD drinks contain 15mg of CBD oil and some other ingredients that are included to help you relax and enjoy a stress and hangover-free day or evening. The other ingredients included are chamomile, L-theanine, ginseng and lemon balm. This mixture of ingredients is designed to help you get the best out of your day. The CBD oil that is included in the drinks and the chamomile is to help you relax, but then an ingredient like the L-theanine has been proven to help mental performance.
What do Trip CBD drinks do?
Because I have investigated online, I now get served quite a few ads for Trip CBD drinks and they are marketed in a couple of different ways, but the main way they are marketed is to help you relax. The first advert I saw portrayed them as a “hangover-free” way to enjoy your evening, and I must say the most I have drunk in one t is two but I can certainly imagine if I had more they would relax me as much as a glass of wine. This line of advertising was correct for me as well, anytime I have drunk one of these I have not suffered any adverse effects after or the next morning. If you want to use them as a way of relaxing during the day rather than as a substitute for alcohol on a night out, they are great for this too.
Can I drink Trip CBD drinks in the morning?
Whenever I want to try anything like this, my first question is “will it make me tired?”. I have the tendency to become anaemic, so I am pretty much exhausted the moment I wake up, becoming more tired is something I am certainly not interested in, even if it helps my anxiety. This was a big test for me. It’s all well and good having a couple of these on a Saturday night, or the train home, but to assist with my anxiety they would have to be something I could enjoy any time of day. And I am pleased to report, that I drank one of these one morning after my two coffees, and it didn’t make me tired at all. That’s not to say it didn’t work. Not only did I feel relaxed, but I also felt a little extra level of confidence that I wouldn’t usually have first thing. A sort of “I can deal with anything that comes y way today” energy.
Where can I buy Trip CBD drinks?
Buying the drinks individually can be pricey. You can buy Trip CBD drinks on Amazon in bulk. However, if you do only want to try a couple of cans, you can grab them in your local Holland and Barrett or Sainsbury’s.
